Hello all, i have been trying to download LoL on my new macbook pro and every time i try to download it all, it all ways freezes at Step 2/2 242mb 0kbps 87%. Its been really annoying because it takes about 2 hours to get.
When I started to patch the patch 4.7, it eventually hit 33% and then hit 0 KBps download speed. I tried almost every fix on the internet, and eventually I found out that my antivirus program VIPRE was causing the issue. I went ahead and tried to uninstall VIPRE through every way I knew, but apparently VIPRE couldn't be uninstalled. On Windows installer and other uninstalling programs, VIPRE was no where to be found. I eventually found out that VIPRE didn't download an uninstaller, so I would have to manually find all the files and delete them. After about 8 hours of sifting through every corner of my computer, I finally managed to delete the final file and my patcher started patching again. I know this is off topic but I was extremely happy and needed some place to post.
TL;DR: An antivirus program named VIPRE had no uninstall feature, and it was keeping my patcher from installing patch 4.7. I spent 8 hours looking through my computer to find every file and delete it.
P.S.: This post might be off-topic, I'll understand if a mod deletes it. I just needed some place to post this, because I'm really happy right now.

Now I was searching for a fix for ages as I had some issues with the new patch and it messed up my whole game so I had to re-download it and then I had the issue that I will give you the fix for.
I do not know why I was looking for difficult solutions or anything like that because it is really simple. You just need to add LoL as an exception in your Firewall.
Lol Patch Download
To do that you need to go to your windows search and type in 'Firewall'. In the top right corner you will find 'Allow an app or feature through Windows Firewall' and press that. Then a tab will come out and press on browse. Now for the majority of you the file you need to add will be in the C disk 'C:Program Files (x86)League of Legendslol.launcher'. Some of you might have 'Program Files' instead of 'Program Files (x86).
After all of that is done restart the client and it should download everything without a problem.
I do not know if the solution has been already posted but I though I'll share this so others don't waste time on looking for one.

EDIT: Forgot to say that once you add LoL to the list make sure that both of the boxes are ticked on the right side in the actual list!
